- Oversee and monitor tactical strategy and delivery plans in support of the strategic objectives
- Monitor plans, schedule and budget, and implement robust operational controls where appropriate, establishing review mechanisms and monitoring remedial actions
- Growing internal sales volumes through established channels
- Establish, align, and manage target and budget goals whilst ensuring effective control of costs for a range of functional areas to increase cost efficiency.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external parties
- Track, control and influence sales activities with the specific aim to achieve previously determined sales team targets.
- Define a portfolio growth strategy in line with predetermined growth targets, which are determined on an annual basis through conducting competitor analysis, providing innovating new value propositions and focusing on new as well as cross-sell opportunities.
- Monitor changes in legislation, regulations, initiatives, and relevant industry practices.
- Keep up to date with financial and economic developments to inform and support clients and provide clear analysis for all business processes and documentation to develop the business.
- Monitor costs / benefits per campaign/channel.
- Improve business decisions by providing accurate and reliable business intelligence (information) together with analysing trends and data.
- Plan and manage performance, talent, succession, and culture within the business to improve performance.
- Drive the development and implementation of integrated business governance, compliance, integrity, and ethics frameworks throughout the organisation
- Drive strategic relationships with relevant peers to enable optimisation of the business value chain.
- Use insights and knowledge gained from high level reports to influence direction of the business to ensure organisation-wide performance against long-term strategy and make necessary adjustments.
- Oversee the instilling and building of awareness of positioning the business and perceptions for internal and external environments.
- Bcom/BSc Degree
- At least ten years experience in strategic and operational insurance work.
- Deep understanding of Group schemes
- Long-term and short-term insurance experience and knowledge
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills.
- Proven ability to operate at both strategic and detailed level.
- Driven to consistently exceed expectations, strong work ethic and perseverance, with the ability to operate “in the grey”.
