Maintenance Manager - Estate - Sandton

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance activities for a prestigious estate in Sandton. The ideal candidate will be an all-rounder with extensive knowledge in various maintenance areas, including plumbing, electrical work, upkeep and preventative maintenance, small building projects, pools, and boreholes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Maintenance Operations: Manage day-to-day maintenance activities, ensuring all systems and facilities are well-maintained and functional.
• Team Leadership: Lead and supervise a small team of handymen and maintenance workers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of work.
• Plumbing and Electrical Work: Perform and supervise tasks related to plumbing and electrical systems, ensuring all repairs and installations are done safely and efficiently.
• Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of estate facilities and equipment.
• Small Building Projects: Plan, coordinate, and execute minor building projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
• Pool and Borehole Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of pools and boreholes, ensuring they are clean, safe, and operational.
• Budget Management: Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and accurate record-keeping.
• Vendor Coordination: Liaise with external contractors and vendors for specialized services and ensure timely completion of outsourced tasks.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations, creating a safe environment for residents and staff.

You need

• Proven experience in a similar maintenance management role, preferably in a residential estate setting.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, preventative maintenance, building projects, pool, and borehole maintenance.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
