Job Desciption

Novus Print: Montague Gardens is seeking to appoint a Storeman to receive, store and issue stock according to prescribed procedures and principles, whilst maintaining safe occupational safety standards within the Paper Stores department. The successful incumbent will report to the Paper Stores Supervisor.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receiving, storing, and issuing of stock according to prescribed procedures and principles
  • Knowledge of safety standard operating procedures relating to moving equipment
  • Maintaining safe occupational health and safety standards
  • Maintenance and operating of clamp and forklift machines
  • Working knowledge of operating a handheld scanner
  • Adherence to all Company safety policies, procedures, and SOP
  • Ad-hoc tasks include general housekeeping and assistance within the department
Educational Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Valid Forklift/Clamp licence
  • Valid Code 01 / A (Counterbalance Truck / Side shift) and a valid Code 02 / C (Counterbalance Truck / Clamps) license
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the same or similar role
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in operating a forklift/clamp or any other moving equipment
  • Knowledge of the general layout of a production or manufacturing environment
Skills and Competencies
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • A good sense of balance
  • Good eye-hand-foot coordination
  • Ability to assess weights, judge distances and heights
  • High degree of attention to detail required to prevent injuries to others
