About Strategic Risk Management
SRM is a business critical department in Discovery Health, holding the responsibility for ensuring sustainable and equitable management of scheme funds to deliver patient care. It houses multiple teams of experts in clinical, actuarial, and managerial roles all striving to gain the highest value for members who need care. SRM is a fast paced, highly visible and complex area of healthcare management with opportunities for executive visibility, external client engagement and innovation.
Key Purpose
To assist with ensuring that pharmacy, pharmacy clinic and network contract/agreements and managed and reported on and that the terms and conditions are met.
In addition, the role will include assistance with new product development and implementation within the pharmacy environment.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

• Management and maintenance of pharmacy, and pharmacy clinic, contracts, and networks.
• Develop excellent interpersonal relationships with pharmacies and clinics.
• Adress pharmacy and clinic escalations.
• Manage new project implementations or benefit enhancements, including systems implementations.
• Manage monthly reports: testing, sign off and distribution.
• Managing network status: identify and remove pharmacies that no longer meet eligibility criteria.
• Testing of bulk notifications and template changes.
• Website testing.
• Work closely with other departments to enable and implement the Pharmacy Strategy.
• Manage and maintain pinpoint and marketing collateral.

Education and Experience
Required Education

• Matric
• Post graduate degree in health or health sciences.
• Must be professionally registered with the South African Pharmacy Council

Advantageous Education

• B Pharm

Required working experience

• At least 5 years’ experience working with pharmacy benefits in a funder or provider space.

Advantageous working experience

• Experience working in a pharmacy
