The HPI team is looking for an individual to take ownership of a key target market segment for the business. The successful candidate will be accountable for the overall health of the allocated target segment (growth, retention, and service).

Education:

1. Bachelors degree in an appropriate business field.

2. A post-grad degree or suitable professional designation will be an advantage e.g. MBA, LLB. CA(SA), or Actuary.

Experience:

1. 5 years experience in the broad financial services industry

2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a portfolio manager, business development or account manager role

3. Proven track record of impactful leadership and business success

Knowledge and Skills: 1. Strong analytical skills, including data analysis, market research, and financial analysis.

2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

3. Knowledge of the industry, market trends, and competitor landscape.

4. Clear understanding of the insurance industry

5. Product and project management principles and execution frameworks

6. Proficiency across all Microsoft solutions

7. Strong analytical skills, including data analysis, market research, and financial analysis.

Competencies:

• Knowledge of all MS packages essential,

• Advanced Excel skills beneficial,

• Strict sense of confidentiality,

• Business acumen,

• Ability to multi-task maintaining attention to detail,

• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work,

Job Requirements:

• Willingness to travel for key stakeholder engagements,

• Willingness to work overtime when required and be contactable after hours

Be responsible for the following (but not limited to):

• Account Management: Manage the relevant portfolio within the HPI business, building strong relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.

• New Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities within the portfolio, leveraging industry knowledge, market trends, and competitor analysis to actively grow the business within the portfolio and a achieve the set targets

• Develop and execute strategic plans to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and increase customer engagement.

• Pipeline Management: Manage pipelines, create and track opportunities, and forecasting revenue

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, distribution, underwriting and servicing, to align strategies and drive business outcomes and growth.

• Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and suppliers

• Partnership Development: Identify and develop strategic partnerships to drive business growth and expand market reach.

• Data Analysis: Review and analyse data, market trends, and insights to inform the HPI strategies and optimize results. Market Research*: Conduct market research to identify business opportunities, trends, and competitor activity.

• Performance Analysis: Analyse business performance, identifying areas for improvement and optimizing business strategies.
