ABOUT THE POSITION

Zonke Energy is growing and ready to expand service in our primary community located in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. We are seeking a resourceful, hard-working individual to oversee day-to-day business operations. The position will involve several key tasks, including managing technicians and customer service agents. It will also involve monitoring of our technical resources, as well as generating reports to drive business insight into customer payments, retention, and satisfaction. The position will involve significant amounts of both office-based and field work. As Zonke Energy grows, the position may grow and change as need arises.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Daily monitoring of Zonke Energys solar infrastructure with an online dashboard to ensure consistent power availability
• Daily monitoring of service tickets, dispatching of technicians to resolve issues, and escalating tickets to Technical Director.
• Managing customer service agents
• Managing product stock
• Site visits to deliver stock and tools, and to interact with service technicians and clients
• Generate, edit and update client communications using PowerPoint and other tools. Social media posts from time to time
• Generate monthly reports on customer payments
• Contacting and following up with clients to resolve payment and service issues

TIME REQUIREMENTS

This is a full-time position starting 1 April 2025. Business hours are generally 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday. Position is mostly onsite with work from home offered on a case by basis. From time to time you may be required to attend to urgent matters during the weekend.

ORGANISATIONAL POSITION

You will report to the Technical Director.

REQUIREMENTS

• TVET diploma or similar preferred. Matric required.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Able to professionally and courteously interact with clients and colleagues.
• Experience with customer service tools and processes, including ticketing systems. Experience resolving customer service issues and managing customer service agents.
• Experience in data management settings; must be able to generate, manipulate and analyse data.
• Keen interest in learning and acquiring new skills. Must be detail oriented. Able to think resourcefully to independently solve problems.
• Xhosa and English speaking.
• Excellent computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based tools. Must be readily available via Whatsapp and have a serviceable phone and mobile data.
• Reliable vehicle for commuting to the office and visiting the site. Must possess a valid drivers license.
• Comfortable working within informal settlements

COMPENSATION

Remuneration will be competitive and dependant on background and previous experience. The position is a one-year fixed contract with the opportunity for renewal.
