The Buildings Assessing Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of building assessors who handle property damage assessments for insurance claims. This role ensures the effective evaluation of claims, compliance with industry regulations, and the delivery of excellent customer service. The Team Leader will provide leadership, technical guidance, and operational oversight to optimize team performance and claim resolution efficiency. Minimum Qualification Required- Grade 12/Standard 10/NQF 4
- Relevant qualifications in building surveying, construction management, or insurance-related fields (e.g., CII, CIOB, RICS certifications).
- 2 - 4 years experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of insurance claims handling systems and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience in leadership and stakeholder management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of building assessors.
- Set clear objectives and KPIs to ensure team success.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and development opportunities.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and quality of building damage assessments.
- Allocate workloads effectively, ensuring timely completion of assessments.
- Develop and implement best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Review complex and high-value property claims to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Provide technical guidance on property damage assessments and repair cost evaluations.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, insurer policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including loss adjusters, insurers, and policyholders.
- Maintain strong relationships with contractors and suppliers to ensure effective claim resolution.
- Handle escalations and complex cases, ensuring customer satisfaction and resolution.
- Ensure that all assessments comply with industry regulations and company policies.
- Monitor trends and identify potential risks within claims assessment processes.
- Implement measures to mitigate risks and improve claim outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes.
- Stay up to date with industry advancements, regulations, and best practices.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the quality and efficiency of building assessments.
- Achieve defined team performance targets, including claim turnaround times and quality assessments.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Improve customer satisfaction scores by delivering high-quality service.
- Reduce claim leakage and enhance cost control measures.
- Develop and implement team training and professional development plans.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
