Overview

This role works in tandem with Head of External Communications & Digital Marketing. The role is responsible for building communications across the Group and will manage all Group-wide communications channels and campaigns. The key objectives will be to create and manage Group-wide communication platforms that support efforts to build an understanding of the Omnia business strategy, vision, purpose and values to ensure that we embed Omnias brand and culture across the organisation through deliberate, effective and efficient communication. In addition, change management communications will be a crucial part of the role.

Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications such as a Bachelors in Social Sciences, communications or Public Relations / journalism
Experience
  • Minimum 7 years experience in communications and public relations with strong specialist skills in developing, managing and improving employee engagement within organisations
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred
  • Experience in reputational management with a proven track record of dealing with crisis management
  • Digital communication experience relating to different communication channels
  • Strong understanding of Corporate Communication trends and the ability to apply new thinking to this broad field
Duties
  • Support the development of a communications plan for the Group in conjunction with Head of External Communications & Digital Marketing.
  • Develop communications to help drive efforts to create awareness and understanding of the Group business strategy, vision and purpose through effective channels.
  • Support internal flagship and Group-wide communications campaigns with tailored and effective engagement platforms.
  • Support the rollout of and adoption of digital group communications channels
  • Develop and maintain an engagement process and policy to assist leaders in communicating effectively and choosing the correct communications platform or channel.
  • Identify existing Group-wide engagement platforms and improve on the platforms effectiveness and impact.
  • Closely collaborates with HR and other functions and business units, while building partnerships and relationships across the company to drive the employee engagement agenda and culture
  • Actively drive a communications engagement calendar that covers critical business events aligned to the Group operating rhythm and other initiatives across the Group.
  • Provides the necessary communications support to the Group Communications function in line with Group initiatives and events
  • Measurement and monthly reporting on the performance of communications and reporting on the effectiveness of communications
  • Drives and coordinates monthly reporting for BMC
  • Actively helps the business units to understand the importance of employee engagement and how this improves performance and how this drives business results
  • Develop, manage and enhance engagement & communication platforms to facilitate dialogue between leaders and staff that help translate our business objectives into business outcomes
  • Proactively build and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across a range of business units and geographies
  • Sharing of best practice across the Group on best in class communications
  • Provides support with others
  • Design toolkits and aids to assist leaders and their support teams in identifying opportunities to effectively engage with employees
  • Provide best in class counsel on effective employee engagement strategy and activities
  • Ensure that we have engagement platforms that drive Omnias strategic agenda and these platforms are clearly understood in terms of benefits and effective use of each
  • Create and coordinate regular surveys or other active listening techniques to track employee understanding, attitudes and preferences in terms of the impact and method of engagement
  • Strong project management skills and experience with an excellent ability to multi-task a number of projects - prioritise work and to work under pressure to meet agreed communications targets within tight deadlines
  • Computer literate with demonstrated ability in generic computer packages such as Microsoft
