Closing Date 2025/05/05 Reference Number WCG250326-9 Tracking Number DOI 53/2025 Job Title Artisan (Production Level): Central Mechanical Workshop (Paarl) - 2 posts available, Ref No. DOI 53/2025 Department Department of Infrastructure Salary level OSD Enquiries Mr J Jones at (021) 863 2020 Job Type Permanent Location - Country South Africa Location - Province Western Cape Location - Town / City Paarl Job Purpose The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has opportunities for two (2) suitably qualified and competent individuals to render technical design, production, operation and maintenance services. Minimum Requirements Appropriate Trade Test Certificate (Diesel Mechanic); A valid driving license (Code EC or higher). Recommendation Working experience maintaining diesel vehicles including earthmoving machines. Key Performance Areas Maintain, repair, rebuild and modify all vehicles, construction plant and equipment to standard; Supervise Trade Worker Aid and Apprentice; Maintain occupational Health and Safety standards; Technical skills such as analysing, legal compliance and computer aid applications; Perform administrative duties which include complete log forms and timesheets, initiate orders and writing reports. Competencies Knowledge of the following: Mechanical work on construction plant and equipment and vehicle (test); Maintain good interpersonal relations; Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; Verbal and written communication skills; Good planning and problem solving skills; Good time management skills. Remuneration Grade A: R 243 597 - R 270 357 per annum (Salary will be determined as per OSD prescripts).
