Bank and Cash Manager

Job Purpose

Cash Manager responsibilities include managing company funds and overseeing the allocation of cash balances. The cash and Bank Manager reviews forecasted balances, examining and correcting shortages or overages. Being a Cash Manager ensures all actions

comply with good accounting practices. The cash manager determines corporate cash requirements and maintains adequate cash flow.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop strategies to optimise the cash position of the company.
• Prepare bank reconciliations, check the accuracy of the information and, follow up on any discrepancies identified, ensure figures are reconciled by the stipulated deadline.
• Maintain the reconciling item list and resolve it within a reasonable timeline.
• Maintain the Accounts receivables unclaimed balances and reconcile them as stipulated in company policies.
• Maintain integrity and accuracy in financial transactions and reports.
• Using information from the ERP system, compile various reports and consolidate them to provide accurate figures Management uses them to make informed decisions regarding funds.
• Analyse the cash flow mechanism of the company and prepare monthly variance reports
• Opening and maintaining petty cash accounts for branches and subsidiaries as required.
• Report on petty cash usage and highlight any problem areas.
• Reconciliation of all petty cash accounts checking the accuracy of information and following up on discrepancies identified so that figures are reconciled by stipulated deadline
• Bankers - Professional correspondence between the company and any banking service providers, assist with any bank secretarial task.
• Maintain an authorized signatory lists as well as banking loaders and approvers.
• Collaborate with the internal audit team, supplying them with necessary information audits, as scheduled, and dealing with any queries raised in a timely manner
• Manage the performance of direct reports in accordance with the Company performance management policy and procedure

Minimum Requirements

• National Certificate NQF Level 4 / Grade 12
• Accounting Degree with Articles
• Minimum three (3) years of post-article experience in a financial environment
