Manage Projects Assigned
Minimum Requirements- B-Tech / BSc/ B-Eng degree Mechanical Engineering
- Project Management certification/Diploma
- Minimum of 8 years experience in Utilities, Paper and pulp, power Generation, Petrochemical, water tube boilers, welding, plant maintenance
- Registration with SACPCMP as Professional Construction Manager.
- A minimum of 2 years management experience
(Interface with responsible team members and interface Dpts)
As per the Gated review system:
- Kick off meetings held
- Technical definition completed.
- WBS Created
- Project Planning elaboration throughout life cycle.
- Project Resource and gear planning and control.
- Project internal and external reporting incl project reviews, Risk management, close out.
- Project Mandatory documentation completion, communication and maintenance.
Communication
- Resources i.e. Manpower, Gear, Consumables for the performance of the contract.
- Liaise with Clients site representative and represent the Project Manager on site as required.
- Ensure all departments and sub-contractors operate within their specific discipline and in accordance with the Babcock Standard Practice
- Liaise with Project Management to ensure all contractual obligations and conditions are adhered to whilst ensuring that all costs remain within the budget.
- Immediately report to Project Management any factor which could adversely affect the contract.
- Co-ordinate, communicate effectively with the project team to ensure good liaison and co-operation between various contractors.
- Technical information Control
- Ensure strict adherence to all contract codes, standards and specifications
- Ensure all technical problems are attended to immediately so work can proceed unhindered.
- Be responsible for providing all necessary assistance in agreeing monthly sub-contractor evaluations and assist in resolving any sub-contractor claims.
Safety
- Safety Planning
- Ensure BNE Safety standards and culture is a priority.
- 16.2 Appointment.
- Attend/Chair internal and external Safety meetings.
Quality
- Quality planning
- Quality Standards, Quality management plan and Inspection plans
- Engineering Reports and deviation reporting upkeep.
- Adherence to record keeping and communication protocols.
Subcontracts
- Ensure effective Procurement planning and execution
- Ensure effective subcontract management.
- Back to Back Contracting on T&Cs.
