Contract Manager
We are seeking to employ a highly experienced Contract Manager with a very strong and matured personality, to oversee the development, negotiation, execution, and management of contractors across our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, mitigating risks, and fostering strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. If you have a keen eye for detail, excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for construction.
The candidate should have proven track record and extensive experience of more than 6 years completed projects (Number of pipe laying projects of a minimum diameter of 600MM (per project) completed as a contract manager familiar with Construction and Manufacturing industry.
The job requires an individual that pays rigorous attention to detail, Strategic thinking as the role of the contract manager will be working closely with the Procurement/Legal department. All departments are highly dependent on the position being a competent individual with regards to constructions matters.
The role of the contract manager requires an individual that is diligent and hard working as the job can be strenuous at times.
The individual must have a sound understanding of contract law, procurement regulations, and industry-specific regulations
The role requires an individual that is willing to learn as the work is intricate and complex at times and requires a studious individual.
The individual must be willing to work hard and show initiative in executing their daily duties.
The individual must have good inter-personal skills as job involves communication with a range of people.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead project planning, site establishment, and coordination of construction activities.
- Manage budgets, project timelines, cash flows, and reporting.
- Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including clients, consultants, suppliers, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ requirements and other regulatory frameworks.
- Identify project risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Mentor and lead site teams to ensure project milestones and KPIs are met.
- Monitor and evaluate performance across revenue, margin, efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement through post-project reviews and best-practice implementation.
- Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with contracts and contractors.
- Proficient in contract management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant project management tools
- Provide weekly and monthly progress reports to stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines by managing resources, including staff, materials, and subcontractors.
- Oversee material procurement and inventory control.
· Replacing Expiring Contracts (Create and plan for upcoming reviews - keep track of expiring contracts)
Desired Experience & Qualification
- BTech/BSc/BEng: Engineering (Civil/Mechanical) or higher
- Affiliation to a professional body such as ECSA Professional Registration (Pr. Eng./ Pr. Technologist) must have
- At least 7 years hands on work experience
- Proven track of more than 6 completed projects (Number of pipe laying projects of a minimum diameter of 600MM (per project) completed as a contract manager
- Provide Updated CV, certified copies of qualifications and valid registration certificate
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R50 000,00 - R65 000,00 per month
