An award-winning, socially conscious marketing agency based in Bryanston, Johannesburg, is currently looking for a Midweight Copywriter to join our dynamic BTL FMCG agency on a 6-month contract — with the possibility of going permanent. If youre a natural storyteller who thrives on creating meaningful, engaging content across campaigns and platforms, this could be your next exciting move.

What Youll Do

Creative Copywriting

• Craft clear, engaging copy for print, digital, social, and experiential campaigns.
• Develop brand messaging, campaign concepts, and in-store shopper content.
• Work closely with designers and strategists to bring ideas to life from concept to execution.
• Ensure all copy aligns with each brands voice and resonates with the target audience.

Proposal & Strategy Writing

• Contribute to impactful pitch decks and proposal documents.
• Translate briefs into creative ideas and messaging strategies.
• Support the strategy team with research, consumer insights, and messaging frameworks.

Collaboration & Execution

• Partner with creative and client teams to ensure cohesive campaign storytelling.
• Adapt writing style across multiple brands and audiences.
• Revise copy based on feedback while maintaining a high standard of quality.
• Manage multiple deadlines and projects with a detail-oriented mindset.

What You Bring

• A sharp eye for storytelling, brand voice, and tone.
• Excellent writing and editing skills across formats.
• Experience in BTL campaigns, brand activations, and FMCG marketing.
• The ability to work collaboratively and think strategically.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Copywriting, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or similar.
• 3-5 years copywriting experience in an agency environment.
• A strong portfolio showcasing versatile copy and creative thinking.
• FMCG or experiential marketing experience is a bonus.
