Despatch Clerk
Job Advert Summary
The National Sea Rescue Institute will appoint an experienced Despatch Clerk to verify and maintain records of outgoing goods in the stores and prepare goods for despatch.
The NSRI has 50+ stations, satellite stations and Lifeguard premises across a volunteer network spanning 1500+ volunteers.
Minimum Requirements- Matric Certificate or equivalent
- A Certificate in logistics or supply chain will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 2-3 years working experience in a warehousing or logistical environment.
- Computer literacy in Excel, SharePoint, Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Inventory systems.
- Good understanding of warehouse and stock management procedures and practices.
- Knowledge of storage guidelines for apparel, hazardous and flammable goods, and Personal Protective Equipment.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service, and a team-oriented approach.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of stock management procedures.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
- Ability to work overtime to ensure monthly stock take is complete as operationally needed.
- Bilingual
- Order processing and despatching.
- Documentation of despatch notes and invoices for record keeping.
- Inventory and quality control.
- Provide customer support and co-ordination
- Provide administrative support function including tracking shipments.
