External Marker (Commerce)

Eduvos is seeking to appoint Independent Contractors to assist with marking responsibilities across various modules in the Commerce Faculty at campuses across the country on a part-time contractual basis.

Independent Contractor agreement

Remuneration & Training:

• Payment is based on the number of scripts marked, according to a sliding scale based on module level (Level 1, 2, or 3).
• Training will be provided to ensure consistency and adherence to marking standards.

Requirements:

• Qualification: Relevant Honors qualification in the field of Commerce.
• Relevant subject knowledge in Commerce.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure fair and consistent assessment.
• Computer literacy (essential for online marking and administrative tasks).
• Ability to meet strict deadlines (non-negotiable).
• Team player mindset with good communication skills.
• Hybrid work agreement will be dependent on subject allocations - external markers may be required to collect / mark paper-based assessments at the allocated Eduvos campus

Key Responsibilities:

• Marking paper-based assessments, to be collected and returned to the designated campus.
• Marking online scripts via the Learning Management System (LMS).
• Accurately recording and submitting marks on the LMS.

Geographically Restricted Modules (Paper-Based or Online Marking):

The following modules require markers to be in close proximity to the campus as scripts must be collected and returned:

• Business Management (COBMA1)
• Employment Relations (COERA0)
• Academic English (COAEA0)
• Economics (COECA1)
• Human Resource Management (COHRA1)

Online Marking Modules (Not Geographically Restricted):

The following modules can be marked online via the Learning Management System:

• Business Managment (COBMA2 ; COBMA3)
• Human Resouece Management (COHRA2)
• Marketing (COMKA2; COMKA3)
• Research Methodology (CORMA2)
• Work Integrated Learning (Business Management focus - COISA0)

Timelines (Q1):

• Application Deadline: 4 March 2025
• Training Completed By: 19 March 2025 (Mandatory)
• Summative Assessments Start (Level 2 & 3): 25 March 2025
• Summative Assessments Start (Level 0 & 1): 08 April 2025
