A Fibre Optic Splicing Technician is responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance of fibre optic cables used in telecommunications networks. Their primary duties include:
- Splicing and connecting fibre optic cables to ensure seamless data transmission.
- Conducting tests using OTDR and power meters to verify signal strength and network integrity.
- Troubleshooting and repairing fibre optic networks to minimize downtime.
- Reading and interpreting network diagrams or plans and technical schematics.
- Must have experience to work on GPON and Point to Point networks
- Must have experience with link build, FTTH and FTTB environments.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with fibre optic splicing, a strong understanding of network infrastructure, and proficiency in using splicing and testing equipment.
Must be willing to relocate to Nelspruit Mbombela, and Must have their own vehicle to get to and from work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R18 000,00 - R25 000,00 per month
