Fibre Technician

KOSLO is seeking a skilled Fibre Technician for a 3-month project. This role requires someone who is fully available 24/7 to handle all aspects of fibre installation, splicing, and testing.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conduct site surveys to plan fibre installation.
• Install fibre cables underground, overhead, or inside buildings as required.
• Perform splicing and termination of fibre optic cables.
• Connect fibre to network equipment (ONTs, routers, switches, etc.).
• Test fibre connections using tools like OTDR and power meters.
• Troubleshoot and repair any fibre-related issues
• Ensure work meets industry standards and safety regulations.

Requirements:

• Matric
• A Tertiary qualification
• CERTIFIED FIBER OPTIC TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE
• Expertise in fibre optic cabling, splicing, and testing.
• A minimum of 3 years relevant experience as OPTIC FIBER Technician
• VALID DRIVERS LICENSE.

• Be able to self-manage, especially when operating alone with remote support
• Have excellent communications skills
• Have a need to continuously upskill
