Field Service Technician

Position Overview:

We are looking for a hands-on and reliable Service Technician to join our team. This role involves servicing, maintaining, and commissioning water treatment systems at client sites. While experience in water treatment is beneficial, we welcome candidates with a strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, or related systems who are keen to learn and grow in a specialized field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment

• Install, test, and commission new systems and upgrades

• Diagnose and resolve technical faults

• Conduct site inspections and performance checks

• Keep detailed service records and submit reports

• Ensure adherence to safety standards and company procedures

• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good condition

• Deliver excellent customer service and foster strong client relationships

• Take ownership of service sites and manage scheduling of tasks

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 10 / Matric

• Valid drivers license

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a technical field (electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, or similar)

• Experience with system maintenance, repairs, or installation

• Understanding of pumps, valves, programmable controllers, instrumentation, etc

• Relevant trade, technical or engineering qualifications are an advantage

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals

• Basic administrative and reporting skills

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Capable of working independently and taking initiative

• Good communication and customer service abilities

• Team leadership experience is a plus

• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed

• Preferably based in Strand, Helderberg or surrounding areas
