Footwear Store Manager

The Store Manager is responsible for the daily operations, sales performance, and profitability of the footwear store. This role involves managing the sales team, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining inventory accuracy, and driving sales growth while complying with South African labor regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Store Operations:

Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.

Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked.

Maintain compliance with company policies and South African labor laws.

Handle cash management and oversee end-of-day cash-ups.

2. Team Management:

Recruit, train, and mentor retail sales staff.

Prepare work schedules to ensure adequate coverage while managing overtime.

Monitor employee performance and provide regular feedback.

Resolve staff conflicts and promote a positive work environment.

3. Sales & Customer Service:

Set and achieve monthly and weekly sales targets.

Motivate the team to provide excellent customer service.

Implement promotions and suggest marketing initiatives.

Address customer complaints and handle escalations professionally.

4. Inventory & Stock Management:

Monitor stock levels and order inventory as needed.

Oversee stock receiving, counting, and stock loss prevention.

Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts.

Ensure timely restocking of popular items.

5. Reporting & Administration:

Track daily sales performance and maintain accurate financial records.

Generate weekly and monthly performance reports.

Ensure compliance with labor law regulations (work hours, breaks, leave).

Liaise with the business owner regarding store performance and improvements.

Requirements:

Matric Certificate or higher qualification (Retail/Business Management preferred).

Minimum 3-5 years of retail management experience, preferably in footwear or fashion.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Proven ability to meet sales targets and manage store profitability.

Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in POS systems and basic accounting principles.

Knowledge of South African labor law and retail regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R10 000,00 - R12 500,00 per month
