Job Description: Gardener

Position Title: GardenerReports To: Manager

Purpose of the Role

The Gardener is responsible for the general maintenance, care, and improvement of the outdoor environment, including gardens, lawns, and landscape features. The goal is to maintain a clean, healthy, and visually pleasing outdoor space.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns: mowing, edging, watering, and fertilizing
• Trim hedges, shrubs, and trees as required
• Weed flowerbeds and paved areas
• Plant flowers, trees, and shrubs according to seasonal needs
• Sweep garden paths and remove garden waste
• Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment safely
• Identify and treat plant diseases or pests
• Perform seasonal maintenance like raking leaves or clearing debris
• Assist with small outdoor repairs (e.g., fixing hosepipes, clearing gutters)
• Monitor and report any issues with garden infrastructure (e.g., broken taps, damaged fencing)

Skills & Requirements

• Matric
• at least one year experience as a Gardener
• Ability to operate lawnmowers, trimmers, and garden tools
• Basic knowledge of plants, fertilizers, and pest control
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
• Good time management and attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R3 500,00 - R5 500,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Randburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Required)

Education:

• High School (matric) (Required)

Experience:

• gardener: 1 year (Required)
