Group Procurement Pharmacist
To plan, coordinate and lead the Pharmacy within the hospital by ensuring that quality pharmaceutical services, financial objectives, legislative compliance and people management requirements are achieved to the required CHG standards. Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- A relevant pharmaceutical qualification (B. Pharm Degree or Dip. Pharm
- 3-5 years relevant experience
- 1 years experience as a Responsible Pharmacist
- Understanding relevant legislation governing hospital and pharmacy operations
- Ability to interpret Financial Data
- In collaboration with the Group Pharmaceutical Services Manager, implement best operating practice related to medication safety with the objective of reducing medication incidents.
- Ensure the effective management of the Pharmacy per the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) and the Good Pharmacy Practice in South Africa
- Ensure the Pharmacy compliances with the SAPC, Department of Health (DOH) and other statutory and legal requirements.
- Implement and monitor relevant processes according to quality standards, policy and regulations
- Ensure the alignment, adherence and implementation of end-to-end standard operating procedures
- Collate and address pharmacy related incident reports, complete root cause analysis and where relevant, provide staff with training and collaborate with the clinical staff to implement operational changes promoting safety
- Build mutually beneficial relationships with both internal and external customers as it relates to the delivery of an effective and quality pharmaceutical service within the hospital and the retail pharmacy
- Clearly define goals and objectives and provide direction, coaching and regular feedback
- Ensure performance contracts are implemented and that performance reviews are conducted
- Manage HR related activities related to the subunit, including performance evaluations, leave, and any HR related activities
- Comply with cost controls in order to achieve Pharmacy budget
- Manage the cost of sales of pharmaceuticals in line with revenue and budget
- Prepare reports as required
- Ensure complete, timeous and accurate reporting with appropriate levels of escalation to enable effective decision making
- Adhere to statutory standards, policies and procedures within the business unit to ensure compliance at all times and take remedial action where necessary
