Job Summary

Were looking for a Junior Shopify Web Designer to join our creative team. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience building, customizing, and managing Shopify stores, and is passionate about creating sleek, high-converting eCommerce websites. Youll also support light digital marketing tasks including email campaigns, social media content, and SEO.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Meadowdale, Germiston.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and customize Shopify websites from concept to launch
• Maintain and update existing Shopify and WordPress websites
• Upload products, optimize collections, configure apps, and ensure seamless checkout functionality
• Design website assets such as banners, product images, and landing pages
• Implement basic SEO best practices (meta tags, keywords, alt text, product copy)
• Assist with email campaigns in Klaviyo (promotions, newsletters, automations)
• Support social media efforts with occasional content creation and scheduling
• Collaborate with the creative team to execute brand-aligned campaigns
• Track and report on website performance metrics (traffic, conversions, bounce rates)
• Participate in content updates and minor design tasks as needed in-office

Requirements

• Proven experience working with Shopify (please share examples/portfolio)
• Basic WordPress management skills
• Understanding of Shopify themes, apps, and customization options
• Familiarity with email marketing platforms like Klaviyo
• Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or similar) for web content
• Awareness of eCommerce UX best practices
• Comfortable with basic SEO tasks
• Good attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines independently
• A strong portfolio of past web design work, especially Shopify-based

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

• Product photography or simple video content creation
• Short-form video editing (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts)
• Experience with HTML/CSS (for minor code adjustments)
