Purpose of Role
The role is responsible for sample preparation, which contains fire assay and wet chemical sections
Role Context
- Fluxing
- Filtration of samples
- XRF pellet preparation
- Grading analysis (PSD)
- Moisture analysis
- Fire Assay calculations and QC reporting
- Balance Room Operations
- Wet chem. Sample preparation
- Good housekeeping
- SHE Compliance
- Ensuring that samples are prepared and analyzed accurately and timeously
- Primary sample preparation in an analytical chemistry laboratory would be advantageous
- Secondary sample in an analytical chemistry laboratory
- Separation of precious metals of fire assay techniques would be advantageous
Qualifications
- Grade 12 with passed subjects (Mathematics and Science)/NQF Level 4
- Basic Computer literacy
- Minimum 2 years of Laboratory experience
- Fluxing
- Filtration of samples XRF pellet preparation
- Grading analysis (PSD)
- Moisture analysis
Inherent Requirement
Must be medically fit
