Maintenance Manager
The Hotel Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotels maintenance department. This includes managing the upkeep and repair of the hotels physical infrastructure, ensuring guest satisfaction, compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining a comfortable and safe environment for guests and staff. The role involves coordinating maintenance schedules, leading a team of maintenance staff, and responding to emergency repair requests.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance Operations:
Oversee daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring smooth functioning of all hotel systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
Coordinate and supervise routine and preventive maintenance tasks for the entire hotel property.
Ensure timely repair and maintenance of equipment, facilities, and guest rooms.
Maintain and update a log of all maintenance activities and completed work.
2. Team Leadership:
Manage a team of maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
Assign tasks and supervise the maintenance team to ensure efficiency and quality of work.
Conduct regular performance reviews for maintenance personnel.
Foster a positive and cooperative work environment.
3. Guest Satisfaction:
Respond promptly to guest complaints related to maintenance issues and ensure swift resolution.
Monitor guest room maintenance to ensure a high standard of comfort and safety.
Ensure that all amenities and facilities are in working order for guest satisfaction.
4. Resource Management:
Source and manage suppliers and contractors for parts, services, and repairs.
Ensure cost-effective management of maintenance resources.
5. Compliance and Safety:
Ensure the hotel complies with local regulations, health and safety codes, and environmental standards.
Perform routine safety checks and maintenance inspections.
Ensure all safety equipment is functional, including fire alarms, emergency exits, and sprinkler systems.
6. Emergency Response:
Lead emergency maintenance responses, such as handling equipment failures or unforeseen accidents.
Ensure the hotels emergency procedures are up-to-date and effectively communicated to the team.
7. Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, completed repairs, and inventory.
Provide regular reports on maintenance status, cost, and performance to hotel management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or a degree in engineering or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience (typically 3+ years)
