Maintenance Technician Fitter

Duties:

  • Perform daily maintenance tasks
  • Attend to and resolve electrical and mechanical breakdowns
  • Service, repair, and conduct preventative maintenance on machinery
  • Complete and maintain monthly, and yearly equipment checklists
  • Operate and monitor all plant machinery
  • Adjust operational settings to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Report any processing or equipment issues promptly to the Maintenance Manager
  • Ensure Service lease agreements are met with suppliers
  • Complete maintenance checklists and report findings
  • Conduct safety inspections in line with statutory standards
  • Perform additional related tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Tertiary education N3 or higher or relevant Experience
  • 2 years experience in a maintenance technician role (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of plastic extrusion (preferred)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management abilities
  • Willing to work overtime
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
