Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing Industry)

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment within the facility. This role involves conducting inspections, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and supporting operational efficiency while adhering to safety and GMP standards.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Inspection & Fault Reporting

Responsibilities:

• Regularly inspect machinery and report any faults to management and operators.
• Identify faults and troubleshoot issues wherever possible to minimize downtime.
• Ensure the effectiveness and operational efficiency of machines.

Preventative Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Responsibilities:

• Implement and adhere to preventative maintenance schedules to reduce equipment failures.
• Stay up to date with the latest production methods and equipment maintenance procedures.
• Monitor and set control mechanisms to regulate machine functions effectively.

Parts & Supplies Management

Responsibilities:

• Order necessary maintenance supplies and parts to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain a tracking system for supplies and parts inventory.
• Ensure weekly monitoring of maintenance inventory by the Engineering Manager.

Equipment Safety & Compliance

Responsibilities:

• Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure they meet operational standards.
• Ensure all inspections align with safety and efficiency regulations.
• Work with PLCs and control mechanisms to regulate equipment functions.

Supervision & Work Allocation

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and allocate work to Setters to minimize downtime.
• Ensure proper delegation of maintenance activities to optimize efficiency.
• Daily monitoring of work execution by the Manager.

General Maintenance & Housekeeping

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace while following all safety protocols.
• Adhere to GMP requirements by ensuring a safe and hygienic working environment.
• Conduct daily monitoring to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Competencies

• Technical knowledge of machinery, mechanical systems, and troubleshooting methods.
• Organizational and inventory management skills.
• Understanding of GMP, safety protocols, and compliance regulations.
• Ability to supervise and allocate work efficiently.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and high standards for quality and efficiency.
