Ocean Campus Community Coordinator

Position overview The Two Oceans Aquarium Education Foundation is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of ocean campus community coordinator. This leadership position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Ocean Champions programme, a leadership initiative for youth activists that will expand to support advocates across all demographics. The coordinator will work across the Foundation to ensure seamless learning pathways for aspiring ocean activists. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing the Foundations mission to inspire a love for the ocean and promote marine conservation, not only in South Africa but across the African continent. Key performance areas Customer relationship management Communication Community building and event management Technology and systems Monitoring, evaluation, and learning Course administration Learner support Core skills, experience, and aptitudes The successful candidate will possess: A bachelors degree with subjects like marketing, communications, advertising, or media studies. Approximately ten years of working experience in a relevant field. Three to five years of experience in community management, customer experience management, or customer relationship management. Experience in using CRM systems. Social media and communication skills to build communities. Excellent writing and communication skills, with an ability to package material effectively. Marketing experience, ideally with loyalty communities. The ability to engage and communicate effectively with youth. An understanding of customer journeys and how to build on them. A strong grasp of channels and technology relevant to community building. Strong relationship-building skills. Campaign experience is preferable but not essential. The ideal candidate will also have a passion for ocean conservation, pre-existing networks in the conservation sector, and experience working in a matrix structure.
