Product Manager (Commodities)

Job Description
  • Managing and strategically growing the Commodity portfolio of Food & Bev ingredients, into the Southern African markets.
  • Managing a portfolio of key Customers, Principals and Suppliers.
  • Growing the portfolio year on year in terms of volume, revenue, and margins.
  • Identify new market and product opportunities.
  • Identify new or alternative suppliers
  • Multi-level relationships and price negotiations at customers.
  • Negotiate sales contracts with customers.
  • Support sales team with quotes and tenders.
  • Presentations at customers & support sales team on customer visits.
  • Promotion of company products and image.
  • New business development together with NPD.
  • Drive a working platform pipeline and key projects.
  • Assist in management of working capital within company targets.
  • Inventory management
  • Prepare annual sales budget, monthly forecasts, and monthly sales reports and quarterly business reviews.
  • Provides timely reports and information as required by management.
  • Meeting tight deadlines.
  • Work with all support functions (business coordinators, internal sales, finance, warehouse team) to ensure smooth operation of the business.
  • Maintenance of Zero Harm principles across areas of responsibility
Qualifications & Experience
  • Matric
  • BSC / N Dip in Food Science or Technology OR
  • N Dip in Sales and Marketing
  • 3-5 years product management experience in the Food & Bev industry
  • Syspro or SAP experience would be an advantage.
