Raw Material Planner

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE We are looking for an experienced, analytical and proactive Material Planner to join our fast-paced environment. Manage and execute Raw Material Planning tasks as delegated by the Purchasing Manager in line with Group Purchasing policies, principles, guidelines, and procedures for Raw Material, Purchased Finished Goods, and Direct Packaging Material in close cooperation with local stakeholders and GP, enabling the company to achieve the desired delivery service to the customers. This position is based in Blackheath, Cape Town and reports to the Purchasing Manager. Responsibilities:
  • In conjunction with planning and close cooperation with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between procurement and production timelines.
  • Plan and expedite Materials Requirement Planning for designated Raw Materials, Purchased Finished Goods, or Direct Packaging Material categories.
  • Create material requirement plans by analyzing production schedules and sales data to determine raw material needs to ensure timely ordering and delivery.
  • Track material usage trends, and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages and overstock and address material-related issues
  • Follow up and report to Purchasing Manager on agreed KPIs.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AND WHAT WE OFFER What we look for:
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
  • Planning qualification advantageous (SAPICS/APICS)
  • 4-6 years experience in similar position specializing in Imported Raw Materials
  • Chemical industry experience advantageous
  • Working knowledge of INCOTERMS, Shipping Lead times and Constraints.
  • Advanced MS Office, Excel, Pivot Table, VlookUp, ERP systems (SAP, IFS) is a must.
  • Fluent in in English (written and verbal)
