The position is based at the SANSA Hartebeeshoek site, and the successful candidate will be required to work from the site. SANSA does not offer hybrid or remote working arrangements.

Reportingto the ICT Manager,the technician is responsible for installing, configuring, integrating, maintaining, repairing, and monitoring security systems such as audio-visual, surveillance cameras, access control, intrusion, alarm, intercom, electric fencing systems, and automated gates and doors. The technician will also liaise with management, CHSO, security guards, the project team, technicians, and clients regarding security systems. The person in this position is responsible for the full life cycle of all security systems.

Key performance areas will include, but are not limited to:

• Install, configure, fit, and integrate security systems
• Repair and maintain security systems
• Monitor security systems daily
• Assist and liaise with the security team, technicians, and project team with security-related matters
• Be safety conscious

The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:

• A minimum of a 3-year degree or diploma in IT, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related qualification
• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience as a technician, with at least one years working experience in security systems installations, repairs, and maintenance
• Knowledge and experience of:
  • Microsoft operating systems
  • Networking (design, planning, and installation)
  • Biometric systems (ZKAccess)
  • CCTV and VMSs (GeoVision GV-VMS, SMartPSS, HikCentral, IVMS)
  • Email software i.e. Outlook
  • Microsoft Office
  • Desktop software and server software (installing and configuring)
  • Hardware technical skills, i.e., use tools and other means to fix/maintain/repair
• A valid drivers license
