Senior Cross Border Controller

Job Overview:

The Senior Cross Border Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing international freight movements, ensuring smooth cross-border operations while maintaining compliance with customs regulations. This role plays a critical part in optimizing supply chain efficiency, managing risks, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries across multiple regions.

Requirements:

· Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.

· Minimum 5+ years of experience in cross-border logistics, freight management, or international trade compliance.

· Strong understanding of customs regulations, import/export laws, and cross-border documentation.

· Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory authorities.

· Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems

· Professional certifications in International Trade, Supply Chain, or Customs Compliance.

· Experience handling multi-country logistics operations in regions.

· Knowledge of free trade agreements, bonded warehouses, and duty drawback schemes.

· Strong problem-solving skills to address cross-border delays and compliance issues.

· Excellent negotiation and communication skills for vendor and stakeholder management.

· Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in customs documentation and duty calculations.

· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment.

· Analytical mindset for tracking performance metrics and optimizing operations.

Responsibilities:

Cross-Border Operations & Compliance

· Oversee and manage international shipments, ensuring timely and efficient movement of goods across borders.

· Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, customs laws, and border control requirements.

· Work closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to streamline border clearance processes.

· Monitor and resolve cross-border delays, ensuring minimal disruption to supply chain operations.

Logistics & Freight Coordination

· Plan and coordinate transport routes for cross-border deliveries, optimizing costs and efficiency.

· Liaise with transport providers, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with transit requirements.

· Monitor transportation performance, ensuring adherence to delivery timelines and service agreements.

Risk Management & Cost Control

· Identify potential risks in cross-border logistics and implement strategies to mitigate them.

· Monitor import/export costs, negotiate with vendors, and identify opportunities for cost savings.

· Ensure duties, tariffs, and taxes are correctly calculated and processed to avoid penalties.

Stakeholder & Supplier Management

· Act as a key point of contact between internal teams, suppliers, and external regulatory bodies.

· Work closely with procurement, finance, and warehouse teams to align cross-border operations with

business objectives.

· Build strong relationships with customs authorities and industry partners to facilitate smooth operations.

Data Analysis & Reporting

· Track and analyze cross-border shipping data to identify trends and improvement areas.

· Prepare regular reports on cross-border logistics performance, compliance, and cost efficiency.

· Implement process improvements based on data insights and operational feedback.
