Key Responsibilities: Payroll Management: Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for employees, including salaries, wages, commissions, and bonuses. Ensure compliance with MIBCO (Motor Industry Bargaining Council) agreements and regulations, ensuring correct application of terms and conditions. Manage payroll calculations and ensure accurate deductions (taxes, retirement benefits, insurance, etc.). Review and approve payroll data, ensuring all records are up-to-date and accurate. Generate payroll reports and distribute payslips to employees on time. Address payroll queries and resolve any discrepancies. Sage 300 Payroll System: Utilize Sage 300 Payroll to manage payroll data, process adjustments, and create necessary reports. Troubleshoot any issues with the payroll software and liaise with the IT department or Sage support as needed. Ensure proper integration of payroll data with accounting and financial systems. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to labor laws, tax regulations, and industry-specific agreements (such as MIBCO). Maintain accurate records for statutory reporting, including UIF, PAYE, and other deductions, and ensure timely submissions to government bodies. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports for management and financial audits. Liaise with auditors during payroll audits and provide necessary documentation. Finance and Accounting Support: Work closely with the finance team to reconcile payroll-related accounts, including bank and general ledger accounts. Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes related to payroll and tax filings. Support budgeting and forecasting by providing payroll cost data and trends. Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and guide junior payroll staff, providing support in payroll processing and troubleshooting. Assist with training and development initiatives for the payroll team. Key Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration, with at least 3 years in a senior payroll role, ideally within the automotive industry. Strong expertise in MIBCO agreements and its application in payroll processes. Experience with Sage 300 payroll system (formerly Accpac) is essential. Solid understanding of finance and accounting principles related to payroll (including tax laws, UIF, PAYE, etc.). Skills & Knowledge: Exceptional knowledge of payroll systems and software, particularly Sage 300 and other payroll-related tools. Familiarity with MIBCO-specific regulations and agreements in the automotive industry. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with internal stakeholders and employees. Education & Qualifications: Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field (preferred). Payroll certification or accreditation (e.g., from the South African Payroll Association or equivalent) is advantageous. Personal Attributes: High level of integrity and confidentiality. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Between 5 - 7 Years
