Senior Remuneration Administrator

The Senior Remuneration Administrator will be responsible for overseeing and executing end-to-end payroll and benefits processes across South Africa and other designated African countries. This role ensures accurate and timely salary payments, compliance with diverse local labour laws, and effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Senior Remuneration Administrator Job Duties:

  • Process and manage payroll for employees in South Africa and other African countries (Zambia & Namibia), ensuring adherence to local tax laws and employment regulations.
  • Coordinate with in-country HR and finance teams to gather necessary payroll inputs and approvals.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including medical aid, retirement funds, and other region-specific benefits.
  • Ensure accurate enrolment, changes, and terminations of benefits in accordance with company policies and local regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including PAYE, UIF, SDL in South Africa, and equivalent regulations in other African jurisdictions.
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports to relevant authorities, such as SARS and other local tax bodies.
  • Maintain and update payroll systems (Sage 300, VIP Premier) with accurate employee data.
  • Generate and distribute payslips and payroll reports to stakeholders.
  • Address and resolve payroll and benefits-related queries from employees across different countries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide guidance on payroll and benefits policies and procedures, ensuring clarity and consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance payroll and benefits processes and implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll and benefits legislation across the African region and adjust processes accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • National Diploma or Degree in Payroll Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field

Experience and Knowledge of:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in payroll and benefits administration, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience managing payroll and benefits across multiple African countries.
  • In-depth understanding of South African labour laws and tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with payroll and benefits regulations in other African countries.
  • Proficiency in payroll software systems such as Sage 300, VIP Premier, VISTA Clocking System, ERS Biometrics or similar platforms.
