Stock Controller
We are looking for for a Stock Controller preferably from the manufacturing/engineering industry with at least 2 to 5 years experience. Duties & Responsibilities Key responsibilities include but not limited to: A Stock Controller is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, tracking stock movements, and ensuring efficient supply chain operations. Here are the primary duties they perform: Inventory Management Inventory Management • Monitor stock levels to ensure availability of products. • Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accuracy. • Implement reorder procedures to avoid stockouts or overstocking. Supplier Coordination • Act as the liaison between the company and suppliers. • Negotiate terms and manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery. • Coordinate the receipt of goods and manage shipments effectively. Data Analysis and Reporting Data Analysis and Reporting • Utilize inventory management software to track stock levels and generate reports. • Analyze data to forecast future inventory requirements. • Provide actionable insights to management based on stock trends. Quality Control • Ensure that received and stored products meet quality standards. • Address discrepancies or damage with suppliers promptly. • Implement quality checks within the logistics process. Skills Required for a Stock Controller • Attention to detail to maintain accurate inventory records. • Strong analytical skills for interpreting stock data. • Excellent communication skills for interacting with suppliers and other departments. • Proficiency in inventory management systems and relevant software tools. • Coordinating stock control operations with warehouse staff, as well as the sales and finance departments. • Analyzing supply chain data to ensure the uninterrupted availability of stock. • Forecasting supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock (OOS). • Evaluating vendors and suppliers offers and negotiating profitable purchase prices. • Placing and receiving orders to replenish stocks as needed. • Tracking shipments and coordinating internal stock transfers, as well as resolving delays. • Overseeing stock storage processes, including tagging, boxing, and labeling. • Maintaining a steady flow of stock from storage to where it is needed. • Performing regular inventory audits and keeping stock purchasing within budget. • Maintaining and updating daily shipment records, as well as purchases and pricing reports. • Stock Controller Requirements: • Bachelors degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred. • A minimum of two years experience as a stock controller in a similar industry. • Proficiency in inventory management software, such as Zoho Inventory and Katana. • In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices. • Extensive experience in supply chain data analysis. • Great analytical and problem-solving skills. • Superb negotiation, collaboration, and communication abilities. • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Job Type: TemporaryContract length: 3 months
Pay: R15 000,00 - R20 000,00 per month
