Store Manager (Irene Mall)
Role Purpose
As a Store Manager at MR D.I.Y, you will be responsible for the effective management of store operations to achieve growing profit targets while maintaining exceptional customer service standards. This role will contribute to the overall success of the and MR D.I.Ys mission to provide unbeatable value to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop & Execute Store Strategies:
· Create and implement store strategies aligned with the companys vision.
· Analyze market trends, competitors, and customer needs, implementing actionable plans.
· Ensure team alignment with store and departmental strategies to deliver exceptional results.
2. Achieve Financial Targets:
· Drive profitability through sales and margin improvements.
· Implement shrinkage control, expense management, and obsolescence plans.
· Monitor performance to achieve and ensure accurate financial reporting.
3. Customer-Centric Leadership:
· Foster a customer-first mindset and service-oriented culture in the store.
· Lead by example, ensuring staff deliver exceptional customer experiences.
· Develop and execute in-store activities/events to engage and energize both staff and customers.
4. Market Growth:
· Analyze customer behavior and footfall, implementing plans for sustainable growth.
· Conduct price surveys, ensure price competitiveness, and develop strategies to increase market share.
· Build and maintain relationships with key customers to enhance profitability.
5. People Management:
· Develop a team strategy to support recruitment, training, and development.
· Implement succession planning and ensure career development discussions for high-potential employees.
· Drive transformational leadership practices and effective performance management.
6. Risk & Compliance Management:
· Maintain a safe environment for customers and staff by adhering to all health and safety policies.
· Ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies, and internal controls.
· Develop and practice emergency contingency plans.
Requirements
· Education: Grade 12/Matric (Relevant tertiary qualification preferred).
· Experience: 5-10 years in senior management within a retail environment.
Skills:
o Advanced computer literacy (MS Office; SAP experience is a plus).
o Strong financial acumen and analytical ability.
o Proven leadership, communication, and business acumen.
