Videographer

Minimum Qualifications

• NQF Level 5 qualification (or higher) in Film Production, Multimedia Design, Video Production, Media Studies, or a related field.
• Certification in cinematography, post-production, or digital editing (advantageous).

Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in videography, video editing, and content creation.
• Proven portfolio showcasing a variety of video styles (e.g., promotional, corporate, social media, documentary, event coverage).

Core Competencies

• Videography & Production:
• Skilled in planning, setting up, and executing video shoots, including lighting, sound, and camera operation.
• Ability to direct and film interviews, B-roll footage, events, and scripted scenes.
• Post-Production:
• Proficient in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.
• Knowledge of color grading, audio syncing, transitions, motion graphics, and subtitling.
• Experience in compressing and exporting video files for multiple platforms and devices.
• Creative Direction & Storytelling:
• Strong understanding of narrative structure, pacing, and visual storytelling.
• Ability to develop creative concepts and scripts for video content that aligns with brand or campaign objectives.
• Equipment Knowledge:
• Proficiency with professional DSLR/mirrorless cameras, gimbals, microphones, lighting kits, and tripods.
• Ability to troubleshoot common technical issues on set.
• Digital & Social Media Integration:
• Familiarity with formatting content for different platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn).
• Understanding of platform-specific video specs, durations, and audience engagement strategies.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Comfortable receiving and implementing feedback.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, travel, and shoot on-location when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, film, and edit high-quality video content for a variety of uses (e.g., internal comms, advertising, digital campaigns, events).
• Collaborate with marketing, creative, and communications teams to ensure video content aligns with brand identity and goals.
• Manage and maintain video equipment, assets, and archive systems.
• Stay updated with video trends, techniques, and technologies to continuously elevate content quality.
• Ensure all content is delivered on time and within scope.
