Warehouse Controller

Hendok has an exciting opportunity within our Supply Chain, based at the warehouse, Airport Industria, Western Cape. We are looking for a talented individual with relevant skills and experience to be a Warehouse Controller. The successful candidate will rotate across managers.

Key Purpose

To lead and facilitate the warehouse team, in order to meet operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Lead and facilitate the shift teams with sound performance application.
  • Attend to shift administration and documentation.
  • Manage and optimise warehouse performance through professional stock control and forklift operation.

Key attributes and competencies

  • A working knowledge of occupational health and safety practices.
  • Highly flexible, able to be rotated across functions as the need requires.
  • An in depth understanding of all aspects of the warehousing operation.
  • A working application of warehouse systems.
  • A general and practical knowledge of fleet maintenance.
  • Self-motivated team player who is organised and decisive.
  • Must be able to work shifts.
  • Sound people management and IR skills.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Matric / Grade 12 / NCV 4 with maths
  • National Certificate/Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain or Commerce (an advantage)
  • Basic MS Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Previous/current experience in the steel industry would be an advantage
