Communications Manager (remote)

Who are we looking for: An experienced communications specialist with the ability to sell, who has preferably worked in the banking sector and is a confident communicator and presenter.

What will you do:

• This position will lead the organization in terms of communication to both internal and external stakeholders as well as focus on sales and onboarding of new members and industries.
• Oversee all internal and external communications
• Develop and implement effective communication strategies
• Understand the various LSM groups that are present within a member’s client base
• Measure the impact of communication strategies on a continuous basis to evaluate effectiveness and to ensure maximum impact
• Work with external branding company to plan and manage the design, content, and work of all marketing materials
• Work with external PR company to formulate effective media releases to all media outlets
• Conduct radio and television interviews at various times of the day and weekends when necessary
• Manage the social media and website presence of the company proactively to ensure that the organizational presence is informative, creative contemporary and relevant
• Facilitate the acquisition of sponsorships and execute the promotions for any events. Planning and execution of conferences, webinars, product-launches and other events
• The position reports to the CEO directly

What do you need:

• Bachelor’s degree or similar in journalism or marketing or communications or public relations
• Relevant experience of at least 7 years in a similar role
• Experience in sales of services
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• Superior project management and time management skills
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude in developing marketing content for both internal and external audiences
• Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends and communication practices as well as tools in digital /social media
• Self-motivated and proactive with a positive and professional approach and the ability to meet deadlines
• Exceptional listening skills and analytical ability with the necessary attention to detail
• The ability to work under pressure with well-developed interpersonal skills to work in a team environment internally of the organization as well as external teams of the member organizations and service providers.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking) is a necessity. African languages (speaking) will be an advantage
• Communications background within the Banking Sector will be an advantage
