Accounting Specialist Role An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Accounting with articles, along with a minimum of 3+ years post-article working experience to support the finance team and provide mentorship. This position requires relocation to Kenya, where the successful candidate will be responsible for: Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring trail maintenance. Overseeing the full accounting function, including general ledger accounts, journal entries, and balance sheet management. Preparing and analyzing weekly and monthly financial reports, including management accounting and customer profitability analysis. Maintaining fixed assets, banking, and regulatory requirements, such as VAT, Income Tax, and Withholding Taxation. Managing foreign currency transactions and bookings in multiple currencies (EUR, GBP, USD, KES). The ideal candidate will also assist with: Preparing annual financial statements. Coordinating audit preparations. Supporting the Director with other projects and responsibilities. Assisting in the preparation of management accounts, with a focus on in-depth analysis against budgets and forecasts. To succeed in this role, the Accounting Specialist should possess: A strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. The ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with accounting software such as Cargowize or Pastel.
