Outline of role

The Quality and Process Manager will oversee the overall quality assurance, control processes, and operational efficiency within the company. This role is integral to ensuring that all products and services meet both internal and external quality standards, while also optimizing and streamlining processes and workflows for maximum efficiency. The successful candidate will develop and implement quality control systems, implement workflows and SOPs, monitor the distribution, production and repairs processes, and recommend improvements to maintain and elevate product and service quality.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Quality Assurance and Control:

· Manage all areas of quality control to ensure all products consistently meet high-quality standards.

· Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems, ensuring compliance with both company policies and external regulatory standards.

· Perform regular quality checks and process audits, analysing performance and identifying areas for improvement.

· Establish metrics and KPIs to track quality performance and ensure product consistency and reliability.

· Ensure that all products meet required standards before they reach customers, addressing non-conformance issues promptly.

· Technical Evaluations:

· Perform technical evaluations on products following New Product Development (NPD), New Product Onboarding (NPO

· Ensure new and modified products meet all technical and quality standards.

· Collaborate with production teams and suppliers to validate product specifications and quality requirements.

· Conduct site quality audits, inspections, and supplier evaluations.

· Customer and Supplier Interactions:

· Work closely with customers to understand and meet their quality requirements.

· Collaborate with suppliers to ensure parts and consumables meet necessary quality standards.

· Equipment and Tools:

· Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and proper use of quality control equipment and tools.

· Ensure availability and proper functioning of all QC resources.

· Compliance and Standards:

· Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards (including ISO 9001:2015), regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.

· Stay informed on industry trends and best practices related to quality control

  • Process Analysis and Optimization:
  • Identify current workflows and pain points within various departments.
  • Conduct process mapping to understand current procedures and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyse data to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in existing workflows.
  • Develop and propose process improvements based on data analysis.
  • Workflow Design and Implementation:
  • Design new workflows using appropriate tools and methodologies (e.g., flowcharting).
  • Develop clear documentation (SOPs) for new processes, including detailed instructions and decision points.
  • Implement new workflows across relevant teams, ensuring proper training and communication.
  • Monitor implementation progress and address any issues that arise.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination:
  • Collaborate with different departments to understand their needs and align workflows accordingly.
  • Facilitate communication between teams to ensure smooth handoffs between processes
  • Resolve inter-departmental conflicts related to workflows
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to workflow efficiency.
  • Analyse data to identify areas where further optimization is needed.
  • Generate reports on workflow performance to management, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
  • Training and Support:
  • Provide training to employees on new and updated workflows.
  • Address user queries and provide ongoing support related to process execution.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks within workflows.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices for workflow management.
  • Proactively suggest improvements to existing workflows to enhance efficiency.
  • Non-conformance Management:
  • Apply professional judgment to determine if an action constitutes non-compliance
  • Initiate and monitor Non-conformance reports
  • Discuss non-compliance with relevant employees and management
  • Conduct root cause analysis for quality defects, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans
  • Update internal policies to comply with regulations
  • Retrain employees on company policies and procedures

· Regulatory Compliance and Reporting:

· Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements

· Develop and manage documentation systems for quality assurance, audits, and regulatory requirements.

· Prepare and present detailed reports on process performance, quality metrics, and cost-saving initiatives.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Formal qualifications in quality, engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of QA/QC experience in engineering, manufacturing, or construction industries
  • Experience in steel manufacturing/foundry production processes, materials, distribution, will be a large advantage
  • Proficiency in quality control methodologies and tools (e.g., Q-Pulse, ISO standards).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and accuracy
  • Proven experience in implementing quality management systems (QMS) and process improvement frameworks.
