Overall Purpose of the Job (Please provide a summary of why the job was created and what the main responsibilities are :The Academic Head of Brand is responsible for enhancing academic quality, curriculum implementation, and teaching effectiveness for the Crawford International Schools in South Africa and Kenya, within the ADvTECH Schools Division. This role ensures the schools uphold high educational standards, comply with regulatory requirements, and drive student success through effective and innovative teaching and learning strategies. As part of the national brand office support structure, the position aligns with the Groups academic strategy, led by the Central Academic Team (CAT). Academic Strategy Alignment Lead the development and review of the brands academic strategy in consultation and collaboration with the Central Academic Team and brand management.

• Ensure alignment between brand value propositions and academic strategies.
• Define tactics, goals, and processes to achieve strategic objectives.
• Oversee brand implementation and develop professional development initiatives to improve brand performance.

Teaching and Learning

• Collaborate with the Central Academic Team to implement progressive teaching methodologies and technologies.
• Lead the execution and impact monitoring of agreed teaching strategies.
• Oversee the integration of ICT and alternative learning methods, including hybrid and online platforms.
• Ensure the adoption of learning management systems (LMS) as part of blended learning initiatives.
• Design and lead teacher skill development and performance improvement strategies.
• Set measurable academic targets and ensure principals have the support needed to achieve them.
• Research innovative teaching and learning opportunities for the brand, prepare proposals and implementation possibilities.
• Co-ordinate academic conferences and collaborative professional learning opportunities for the brand.

Curriculum Alignment and Monitoring

• Ensure brand implementation of differentiation and standardisation projects for common assessments and benchmarking.
• Oversee phase specific scope and sequence projects across brand schools.
• Identify and support initiatives for sharing best practices, common assessments and learning materials across the brand, and the wider group.
• Research and evaluate educational trends and innovation for potential adoption.
• Conduct data analysis to inform academic

Quality Assurance and Governance

• Implement quality assurance frameworks and performance measurement strategies.
• Foster a quality assurance and growth-oriented culture within schools.
• Ensure schools preparing for their first matric cohort meet required milestones.
• Lead and co-ordinate IB, IEB and Cambridge compliance and evaluation
• Monitor compliance with academic requirements and liaise with regulatory bodies as needed.
• Provide brand-specific input for central reporting and management committees.
• Define and manage brand academic budget

People and Stakeholder Management

• Support senior appointments and brand staff management.
• Communicate and monitor performance goals and strategic outcomes.
• Provide regular, actionable feedback to brand and school leadership.
• Promote transformation objectives within the brand.
• Communicate and manage strategic relationships with principals, MDs, COOs, and teachers.
• Represent the brand in academic matters with CAT and act as the brand spokesperson when required.

Education (Formal Qualification required) Masters degree in Education
