Job description:

A well-established brokerage based in Paarl and Worcester is seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join their on-site team. We are seeking a professional with strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service. Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire claims process, from notification to settlement
• Assess and validate claims in line with policy terms and conditions
• Liaise with clients, insurers, and service providers to ensure smooth claims handling
• Provide technical support and guidance on claims-related matters
• Ensure claims are processed efficiently and fairly in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Handle client queries and complaints professionally and timeously
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with FAIS and FSCA regulations
• Uphold the principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric qualification
• Full NQF4 qualification in short-term insurance
• Regulatory Exam RE5 and CPD hours completed
• Registered as a Representative with the FSCA (DOFA required)
• FAIS Compliant
• 5 to 10 years of commercial and personal lines underwriting experience within a brokerage
• In-depth knowledge of Commercial, Personal, Agri, Engineering, and Marine short-term insurance products and policies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims management software

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills
