About VoiceMap

VoiceMap is a global leader in the emerging market for self-guided audio tours with walks, cycles, drives and boat trips in over 70 countries. These are produced using our collaborative CMS, Mapmaker, which combines editorial support with a unique process that has given us a reputation for quality.

Our apps for iOS and Android have thousands of five-star reviews, as do the tours themselves, and we plan to offer ten times as many of them - along with a number of related products - all with a focus on giving people easy, engaging ways to see the world around them from new, surprising, and sometimes challenging perspectives.

The Role

  • Editing audio for self-guided tours to a high quality and consistent standard. This begins with providing feedback to a publisher on getting the best quality recording. Then editing out any mistakes, breath and mouth sounds etc, and mixing and mastering the final audio to specification. This can also include adding sound effects and/or music when required. Youll also be required to help with updating/revising existing tour audio as well as edit audio in multiple languages, using a set format.
  • Creating audio trailers and promos for published tours.
  • Learning how to use new tools and technology wherever this might help to improve efficiency or the experience we deliver for partners and users.

Required:

  • Experience with audio editing and mixing, and working knowledge of a specific DAW - Working knowledge of Reaper is preferred. This is the DAW we use to ensure compatibility across editors and projects.
  • An excellent ability to communicate in written English. Our team works remotely, so youll also need to communicate clearly with our team and publishers over Slack and by email.
  • Proven familiarity with basic work apps. We use Google Workspace - so Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc. - but these are enough like MS Word and Excel for you to switch over easily. Youll also need to pick up new tools quickly.
  • A preference for setting your own priorities and an ability to stay organised. Youll have to keep on top of a number of routine tasks while also working on more sporadic projects.
  • Your own laptop and smartphone

Advantageous:

  • Experience with editing spoken word audio
  • A second language. (Or third, etc.)

We work from a coworking space two days a week, and three days a week remotely. Youll be required to be in the office initially, with a goal to be fully remote once you are up to speed. Own transportation will be required when working in the office.
