Casting Methods Technician

Scope of Work:

- Creating accurate 3D CAD models in SolidWorks from existing customer drawings or samples.

- Using conventional calculations for preliminary methods designs.

- Design method systems onto casting models in 3D CAD.

- Running 3D CAD models through NovaFlow & Solidworks for simulation analysis and justifying designs according to data received.

- Communicate method designs via Engineering drawings to be utilized by the pattern shop and moulders.

- Inspect methoded patterns and knocked-out castings for method accuracy.

Skills Requirements:

- SolidWorks CSWA certified user. (Preferably accredited through MECAD Systems certification if not certified by SolidWorks.)

- Magmasoft or NovaFlow&Solid experience preferred.

- Patternmaking or Moulding knowledge or experience.

- Previous work experience in a foundry is advantageous

- Matric pass with Pure Mathematics and Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD)

- Critical that the applicant knows how to read, translate and understand Engineering drawings.

- The applicant must know how to use hand measuring tools such as calipers, verniers, rules, etc.

- Microsoft Office suite experience (Excel, Outlook, Word etc.)

- Excel proficiency in writing, extracting and understanding formulas.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to R35 000,00 per month
