Desktop Support Technician
Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues with hardware, software, and network problems.
- Identifying the root cause of problems and implementing solutions.
- Providing remote or on-site technical support to users.
- Documenting technical support procedures and maintaining customer records.
Hardware and Software Management:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware and software.
- Setting up new devices, printers, scanners, etc.
- Upgrading or replacing hardware components.
- Installing operating systems, software drivers, and applications.
User Support:
- Assisting users with technical issues, providing guidance with simple step-by-step instructions, and training.
- Responding to user inquiries and requests promptly.
- Asking targeted questions to diagnose problems
- Ensuring users have the necessary tools and resources to perform their jobs effectively.
Network Support:
- Troubleshooting basic network connectivity issues.
- Assisting with network installations and configurations.
- Monitoring network performance and identifying potential problems.
Other Tasks:
- Maintaining a work log of job tickets and maintenance tasks.
- Staying updated on new developments in computing technologies.
- Creating technical reports and manuals.
- Assisting with the implementation of new IT projects.
- Inventory management
Skills:
- Strong technical skills in hardware, software, and networking.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Customer service orientation.
This position will fall under the Admin Department and other duties may be required.
