Despatch Foreman

• Execute ad-hoc duties: Perform tasks that arise unexpectedly or are assigned on the fly by management to address a specific need.
• Supervise despatch operations: Oversee the daily activities of shop floor staff, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
• Lead and mentor shop floor staff: Provide guidance, training, and support to the despatch team to achieve departmental goals.
• Evaluate shop floor staff performance: Assess the performance of shop floor staff and provide constructive feedback.
• Coordinate communication: Facilitate clear and effective communication between shop floor staff, drivers, internal suppliers & customers, and other relevant parties.
• Address issues: Resolve any problems or issues that arise during packaging and despatch operations.
• Monitor performance metrics: Track and analyse despatch performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement despatching processes: Create and refine processes to optimize time and resource management.
• Manage employee training: Ensure that shop floor staff are adequately trained and up-to-date on company policies and procedures.
• Organize work rotas and shop floor staff duties: Plan and assign work schedules and duties for shop floor staff.
• Supervise employees: Oversee the work of shop floor staff and ensure they are performing their duties effectively.
• Develop a work schedule for workers: Create and manage work schedules for shop floor staff.
• Monitor and adjust despatch processes: Identify and address bottlenecks or inefficiencies in despatch operations to optimize resource allocation and minimize delays.
• Maintain accurate records: Keep detailed records all activities on packaging & despatch, health & safety, staff training and any other pertinent issues encountered.
• Compliance to standards: Adhere to all company standards, including but not limited to ISO and any other applicable national or/and international standards.
