The Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board- an Equal Opportunity Employer - is a statutory body established with its main purpose the regulating and monitoring of the gambling and horse racing industry in the Western Cape. The Board invites applications for the following position.

FACILITIES ADMINISTRATOR

The minimum requirements are:

  • National Diploma (NQF 6) / Bachelors Degree in Facilities Management/Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Five years of relevant experience in facilities administration, including building maintenance, regulatory compliance, and health and safety risk assessments.
  • Working knowledge of National Building Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Facilities Regulations. Knowledge of other relevant legislation which may impact the Board.
  • Certification in facilities management (e.g. IFMA, BOMA) would be an advantage
  • Proven computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Code B drivers licence.

In addition, this role requires excellent planning and organisational skills. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to pay close attention to detail. A high level of responsibility and the ability to perform effectively under pressure are essential. The role also demands ethical conduct, adaptability, the ability to handle conflict situations professionally, problem-solving skills, and maintaining strict confidentiality.

The duties attached to this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting routine facility inspections and manage maintenance schedules
  • Coordinate vendor services for building repairs and systems
  • Maintain accurate records on maintenance, inspections, and procedures
  • Oversee administration of the companys vehicle fleet, bookings, and repairs
  • Ensure all insurance and compliance documentation is up to date
  • Perform monthly checks on all tools and systems (e.g. generator, alarms, access control)
  • Handle asset administration and assist in preparing the Annual User Immovable Asset Management Plan
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and building regulations
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and coordinating the organisations disaster recovery plan
  • Manage and oversee building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
  • Maintain robust security protocols and emergency preparedness plans
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure timely resolution of safety concerns
  • Provide facility support to staff
  • Handle incident reporting and health & safety training
  • Manage internal vehicle and equipment bookings
  • Assist with planning and delivery of facility upgrades and improvement projects
  • Support relocations, installations, and warehouse storage logistics

The Board offers an all-inclusive salary package (including 13th cheque) of R 491,489.32 per annum
