Fitter and Turner

Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified Fitter & Turner with at least 5 years experience in precision machining, assembly, and maintenance of mechanical equipment. You will work in our workshop and on-site teams to fit, turn, and overhaul rotating machinery, ensuring reliable operation and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately
• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses
• Fabricate, fit, and assemble components (shafts, gears, bearings) to tight tolerances
• Align and install mechanical assemblies on pumps, compressors, and gearboxes
• Perform inspections, testing, and fine adjustments on completed work
• Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls both in the workshop and on site
• Maintain accurate job, material, and quality records
• Comply with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements

Requirements

• Trade Certificate (Fitter & Turner) or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 5 years experience in an industrial or mining environment
• Proficient in manual and CNC machining processes
• Skilled with precision measurement tools (micrometers, verniers, dial indicators)
• Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to client sites
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset
