Job description

Unicam South Africa, based in Montague Gardens is seeking a dynamic, energetic and responsible FITTER and TURNER to join our team. This is a temporary position with the possibility to become permanent. Please only apply if you have the following:

Minimum requirements:

• Matric passed
• Fitter & Turner
• Minimum 3 years experience
• Experience in health, safety, and statutory compliance in a workshop environment.
• Sound knowledge of maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Good knowledge of machining processes on mills and lathes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and to carry out fabrication from drawings.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances
• Ability to work a demanding schedule during peak season, public holidays, weekends, overtime, attend to callouts for breakdowns at any time.
• Valid Drivers License
• Own Reliable transport (Beneficial)
• Must reside in Cape Town
• Good housekeeping habits
• Good work ethic and sober habits
• A Positive attitude and lively energy

Duties and responsibilities:

• Manufacturing of parts to drawing specifications
• Maintenance on equipment
• Mechanical fitting and assembly work on machines, including use of power tools.
• Assist with R&D and process development
• Operating and programming of CNC equipment, including setup on machine software
• Operating workshop equipment such as manual mill, lathe, grinders and bandsaws etc.
• Technical callouts to clients when required, and possibility of domestic travel
• General housekeeping in the workshop

Education:

• Certificate (Required)

Experience:

• Fitting and Turning: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Drivers License (Required)
