The Role As Lone Riders first senior HR hire, youll shape the foundation of their global People function. From recruitment and onboarding to policy and culture, youll create scalable, people-positive systems that support a fully remote, international team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in dynamic, high-growth environments and loves turning chaos into clarity. Youll be responsible for:
- Global Talent Acquisition: Lead recruitment across roles and regions, ensuring top-tier hires align with business goals and company culture.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Build structured, scalable processes for smooth transitions and long-term retention.
- HR Strategy & Policy: Develop clear frameworks for employee handbooks, contracts, compliance, and feedback cycles.
- People Ops & Culture: Foster an engaged, connected, and thriving remote-first team across continents and time zones.
- HR Tech Stack: Implement and manage tools like BambooHR to streamline processes and reporting.
- Scheduling & Time Tracking: Ensure alignment across global time zones with clear systems for time tracking, holidays, and visibility.
- Manager Support: Partner with line managers to enhance team leadership, performance, and growth.
- 5+ years in HR roles, ideally in fast-growing, international eCommerce or DTC businesses.
- Proven experience leading HR functions in remote-first or international environments.
- Skilled at scaling HR systems from early-stage to mature operations.
- Solid understanding of distributed team dynamics and global labor regulations.
- Excellent communicator with strong cultural sensitivity and interpersonal skills.
- Deep knowledge of global HR compliance and labor standards.
- Confident working directly with executive leadership.
- Experienced with tools like BambooHR, Notion, GSuite, and Slack.
